A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management provides students with a thorough understanding of the key aspects of this dynamic industry. Students explore fundamental theoretical and practical areas, including hotel, restaurant, event, and travel management.

 

Although understanding business models, marketing, finance, and human resources in the hospitality and tourism context is key to student success, the core objective is to raise their entrepreneurial mindset. During their studies, students can participate in real projects, practical exercises, and professional internships to gain practical experience and build a network of contacts.

The Bachelor of Arts in HTM at IUS is a four-year, eight-semester program of 240 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), broken down into about 30 ECTS per semester. 

Earning a Bachelor’s degree is one of the most important steps you can take towards increasing your earning potential and job opportunities.

Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities in the dynamic environment of the tourism industry. The degree provides students a competitive edge in the job market, preparing them for diverse roles in management, marketing, and development in the hospitality and tourism industry. As a tourist site, Sarajevo offers diverse opportunities for internships and employment.

Career 

Hospitality and tourism graduates have a wide range of career opportunities. They can be employed as hotel, restaurant, event or travel managers. Also, they can work in travel agencies, marketing teams, or start their own business. Although expertise includes event planning, management of hospitality operations, tourism product development, and human resource and financial management in the hospitality and tourism industry, it easily extends to other industries.

 

Candidates who are citizens of foreign countries can submit preliminary application for admission before the official call is published by the University, so that they can obtain necessary residency permits and satisfy language requirements prior to the start of lectures at the University.
